Gedling Borough Council Embrace The Living WageComments Off on Gedling Borough Council Embrace The Living Wage
On 4th November 2013 Councillor John Clarke (Leader of Council) and John Robinson (Chief Executive) announced that Gedling Borough Council proposed to introduce the Living Wage from April 2014
“Many of you will already know what this is about- lots of organisations have already become living wage employers, committing to paying their staff at least £7.45 an hour”
“Nearly 200 Local Authority employees, many of them GMB members, will benefit from this proposal, and I welcome this positive move which will see increases in the standard of living for the lowest paid grades”
Sean Redgate, Organisation Officer.
The GMB regional organiser will be meeting in the new year with the Authority representatives to consult and finalise the proposals to ensure a smooth implementation in April 2014
