In total, 90% of members who voted want action short of strike (overtime ban), 60% also voted for strike action.
GMB met with the company after the result was announced but unfortunately there was no offer proposed by the company.
The company claim that they cannot afford to give the local Lincoln workforce any increase.
There was zero increase on basic pay in 2014 and 2015 and 1% in 2012 and 2013.
GMB has issued notice to the company on an overtime ban on today (Monday 6 February 2017) due to commence 13 February 2017.
Colin Todd, GMB organiser, said:
“We acknowledge that the company has invested in plant and machinery on site and that is welcome, but they have failed to invest in their greatest asset, the workforce.
This is why there are people leaving.
The workforce see investment, new offices, plush floors and seating and wonder where is their cut?”
Bifrangi, a specialist forge company, installed a new £50 million screw press at the city facility and boasts to be the first of its kind in the UK.
