2. Get involved with our policy forums –

At this time when many people are fearing job losses, seeing a decline in their living standards and worrying about the effects of cuts to their valued local services, we know that we need to be standing up for GMB members in and outside of the workplace and we want to know what you think needs to be done. We are therefore planning to hold debates and discussions so we can hear from you and feed your thoughts into the Labour Party’s policy making process.

If you or any of your colleagues would like to be kept informed about our policy forums, please contact the Regional Political Officer.

For more information please visit our member’s training & events page.

3. Represent the GMB at your local Labour Party meeting –

We want our members to be represented at local Labour Party meetings so you and your colleagues can have your say to determine local priorities and to select candidates that understand the issues that affect our members.

The GMB will be providing training and regular monthly briefings for any member who would like to get involved with their local Labour Party.

4. Become a Labour Party Trade Union Liason Officer –

It is vital that members of your local Labour Party are regularly informed about the work we in the Trade Union Movement are undertaking, the campaigns we are running and the support we can offer to local Parties. Alongside our comrades in the other affiliated trade unions through Unions Together, we are ensuring that Trade Union voices continue to be heard at every level of the Labour Party and you could play a vital role in your area.
