Justice for Pleural Plaque Sufferers
JUSTICE FOR PLEURAL PLAQUE SUFFERERS
On October 17th 2007 the House of Lords ruled that pleural plaques cannot be compensated in English law. The GMB believes that decision must be reversed not least for these reasons.
Pleural plaques is considered to be a disease. Most medical text books describe them as such. Pleural plaques consist of scar tissue on the lungs. The law accepts that scar tissue on the outside of the body is an injury. We believe scar tissue on the inside of the body to be an injury. Scarring is an injury wherever it occurs.
On Tuesday 29th January 2008 a demonstration was organised in London and hundreds of people from throughout the country were united against this dreadful decision that came from the House of Lords. We are urging each and every one of you to show your support to overturn this injustice by signing below. Your support is gratefully appreciated and I am sure by working right throughout the country together we can reverse this decision.
Please email the following details to to register your support, if possible by the end of February 2008
