Massive Victory For GMB Members in Kingston Upon Hull City Council
Following a campaign of petitions and demonstrations, the ruling Liberal Democrats have accepted an amendment to the Hull City Council budget.
The amendment to their budget will mean that Free Healthy School Meals will continue, the Museums and Leisure Centres will stay in-house and not go to Trusts.
Social Services Care Homes are to remain in use and will not be closed.
The GMB believe that by accepting this amendment, this will save the jobs of our members who will be able to deliver the services in the same compassionate and professional way as always.
The GMB will continue to keep the issue in the public eye and campaign that this amended budget is applied.
