  2. Teenage Cancer Trust Bike Ride

    Karan Coleman, GMB member from Mansfield, recently participated in a cycle ride from Worksop to Skegness to raise  money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.  The ride was in memory of a young man named Andy Ellis who died aged 24 years from Cancer.



    Third largest Labour Party affiliate announces support for leadership candidate following membership ballot

    GMB, the UK’s third largest trade union, have endorsed Owen Smith in the Labour Party leadership contest.

    The union, which represents members across the public and private sectors, balloted members to ask their opinion on who the union should support.


  4. Do young workers need trade unions?

    Dr Andy Hodder, lecturer at the University of Birmingham, is staging an event in November based on ‘Do young workers need trade unions?’.  Research has found that the transition of young people into employment is fraught with difficulties in finding stable and well-paid employment when compared to older workers.
